ACDP WELCOMES PLANS FOR UNIVERSITY IN NELSPRUIT

Posted by Hon Cheryllyn Dudley, MP on 08 March 2010
ACDP MP Cheryllyn Dudley said today:

"Mpumalanga is sorely in need of a university and technical skills facility to enable the local skills and talent to remain in the province to build and prosper the community. The ACDP welcomes the news that plans are underway to establish the University of Mpumalanga in Nelspruit.

Skills development has been identified as a significant factor in reducing poverty and accelerating long term economic growth. The ACDP believes that the future of our country is dependent to a large degree on the strength of our education system and how that system responds to the needs and demands of communities. Those needs which we believe the education department should embrace as public-private partnerships to foster competition and  achieve excellence."
