INVESTIGATORS REPORT INTO THE ARMS DEAL

ACDP Spokesperson for Defence, Adv. Mighty Madasa MP, said about the investigators report into the arms deal that “the investigators have essentially exonerated the government for wrongdoing in the arms deal.”

“During the interrogation by various parliamentary committees, the investigators have maintained this finding,” said Madasa

“Whilst there is no hard evidence that the cabinet, as a collective on behalf of government, committed illicit acts in putting together the package, the ACDP believes that there should be caution before individual politicians are completely exculpated.”

Madasa said that, “there should be caution before individual politicians are completely exculpated. The individual employees and persons who are still under investigation may as well implicate individual politicians as people on whose behalf they acted.”

“Overall, the ACDP urges the investigators to follow every lead and to leave no stone unturned when investigating individuals. All necessary actions must be taken regardless of who is involved.”
