ACDP expresses support for Health workers

I am was angry and ashamed that the Minister of Health's only response to the nightmare at Philadelphia Hospital near Groblersdal is one of indignation that patients have had to confront the horror of what they are doing, with no thought for the health workers who are forced to confront this horror on average 70 times a month in this one hospital alone.

Having to watch tiny babies being brutally expelled and even pulled from their own mothers wombs is horrific torture. Why should health workers who have such a vital and difficult job to do under normal circumstances be forced to endure and participate in such barbaric acts? If the Minister wants someone to blame she should look at her own front yard. Government with the aid of organisations like Planned Parenthood Association of South Africa have put these women in the position of thinking it is OK to do these terrible things to themselves and their own children just because it is legal.

I would like to call on Government to come to their senses and stop the wholesale slaughter of unborn South African children. Health Workers who feel threatened or intimidated into violating their own consciences must call for protection from their communities and the ACDP would like Health workers to know they have our support.

Sincerely
