Has Lovelife "cleaned up its act?"

Cheryllyn Dudley MP for the African Christian Democratic Party and member of the Health Portfolio Committee acknowledged today that Lovelife has “cleaned up its act” somewhat in response to a public outcry around their outrageous campaign to counteract HIV/Aids.

Mrs Dudley said that while she was pleased about the changes she was aware that it is strategy aimed at allaying public concerns while in fact she said, “Lovelife’s stated agenda still stands. Lovelife is still committed to presenting sexuality outside the context of marriage, promoting oral sex, masturbation, condoms, abortion and encouraging experimentation with homosexual lifestyles.”

In Parliament yesterday members of the Health Portfolio Committee heard about the “worthy goals, impressive research and excellent facilities” which drive their campaign, which targets 12 to 17 year olds. Lovelife operates on a budget of R200 million pa and is looking for an additional R400 million to advance their agenda.

“Family friendly organisations are grossly under-funded and sidelined, while our taxes are used to extend the grip of Lovelife on the nation. South African parents want to choose their children’s education but are being forced into a corner where no alternatives are available due to unfair distribution of tax payers money,” said Mrs Dudley.
