ACDP supports recommendation for Deputy Chief Justice

The ACDP welcomes President Thabo Mbeki’s recommendation that Judge Dikgang Moseneke be appointed Deputy Chief Justice.

Judge Moseneke has had a long and distinguished career both as an advocate and on the bench, and is eminently qualified for the post.

He has been a champion of human rights and will no doubt fight to protect the independence of the judiciary, particularly in view of controversial legislation discussed at the recent judges’ colloquium.
