RESIGNATION OF MRS. RINA ROELOFSE
Statement by the National Executive Committee of the ACDP
The African Christian Democratic Party regretfully accepted the resignation of Mrs. Rina Roelofse as ACDP Councillor and Party Member in the Polokwane Municipality. Mrs. Roelofse resigned due to cultural reasons.
The ACDP believes in one Triune God, one nation, which includes the diversity of all cultures in South Africa. All cultural groups are served and accommodated by the ACDP on all levels of the Party.
In view of the ACDP's consistent stand on promoting and protecting family values, and in view of the personal implications of Mrs. Roelofse's resignation for her husband, Dr. Neels Roelofse (MPL) the National Executive Committee of the Party has recommended that Dr. Roelofse stand down as Provincial Leader in the Limpopo Province. Dr. Roelofse has accepted the recommendation. The ACDP leadership trusts that this will give Dr. Roelofse the opportunity to address the personal matters arising from his wife's resignation.
The ACDP expresses its full support for Dr. Neels Roelofse (MPL), who will remain a member of the Limpopo Provincial Legislature for the ACDP and will be eligible for re-election as Provincial Leader at the Annual Conference to be held later this year.
