ACDP Notice Motion - Zimbabwe
ACDP Notice Motion - Zimbabwe
Rev K Meshoe MP - ACDP President
Tuesday, 18 September 2001
Rev Kenneth Meshoe, President of the African Christian Democratic Party,
gave the following Notice of Motion in Parliament today.
That the House:
*
Notes that the Zimbabwe Emergency Project has at last got off
the ground and is ready to help avert a disaster in that country.
*
Further notes that this Project got off the ground at a time
when thousands of people in southern Zimbabwe are facing starvation as
critical food shortages loom.
*
Commends Care International for giving a supplementary meal a
day to thousands of children in the south provinces of Midlands and
Masvingo.
*
Believes the irresponsible actions by war veterans who evicted
farmers from their farms contributed much to this sad state of affairs.
Therefore calls on all those kind-hearted individuals who will be making
financial contributions to the Zimbabwe Emergency Project to also send
messages to the Zimbabwean Embassies calling on their government to
uphold the rule of law at all times and to ensure that illegal farm
invasions do not take place again.
