Homosexual "Families" will not suffice - Statement for ETV's Third
Degree Cheryllyn Dudley MP - ACDP
Wednesday, 22 August 2001
Cheryllyn Dudley MP for the African Christian Democratic Party was
approached by ETV's "Third Degree" to give a statement for their show on
Thursday the 24th of August. The show is about homosexual co-adoptions.
Cheryllyn's statement is as follows:
HOMOSEXUAL "FAMILIES" WILL NOT SUFFICE
CHERYLLYN DUDLEY MP
For 3rd Degree - Thursday 23 August 2001
On Tuesday the 7th of August, the High Court considered whether a
lesbian couple should be allowed to co-adopt children. Judgement
appears to be pending the outcome of another case regarding homosexual
rights.
I believe a dangerous game is being played simply to advance the
"homosexual agenda with horrendous potential consequences. Children are
far too precious and vulnerable for us too allow experiments of social
engineering to take place on them.
Homosexuals of course, are people who need our compassion and kindness.
Our God has a heritage of helping sexually broken people they are
homosexual or straight, Christian or non-Christian, but the homosexual
agenda is a different story. This agenda is enormously financially
backed and being driven. Documented strategies are clear evidence, and
their achievements to date proof. For example: the Bill of Rights,
which gives homosexuals additional rights; the Equality Act; the
targeting of legislation re marriage, adoption etc; schools and public
education, and churches etc. The Lesbian Gay Rights Charter drawn up by
OLGA lists and elaborates on this agenda clearly.
The ACDP stands for family values and the strengthening of the family
unit, which is the basic building block of strong healthy communities
and a strong healthy nation. I quote from the Gay Liberation Front
Manifesto (London 1971), "The long term goal is to rid society of the
gender role system, which is at the root of our oppression. This can
only be achieved by the abolition of the family as the unit in which
children are brought up."
According to statistics, children who grow up in single-sex parented
homes are clearly disadvantaged and the consequences are often tragic.
68% of youth suicides, 85% of all children that exhibit behavioural
disorders, 80% of rapist motivated with displaced anger, 71% of all high
school dropouts, 75% of adolescent patients in drug abuse centers, and
85% of all youth sitting in prisons, grew up in fatherless homes. Of
course children, who grow up without a mother, face problems no less
debilitating.
Making laws, which claim faulty substitutes are the real thing, will
only compound our problems. It is unacceptable for a court ruling to
pervert the definition of a family to this degree. While the ACDP does
not, and has never, advocated state interference in peoples private
affairs, and has compassion for those trapped in this lifestyle who long
for normal family relations, proclaiming women to be fathers and men to
be mothers is manipulative and a gross distortion of the truth. The
many orphaned and already traumatized children in our nation do need
loving homes but this does not necessitate laws proclaiming lies. These
children also need our protection.
God has set the rules and he has created male and female for the purpose
of procreation and nurturing of children in a family unit. I speak
objectively from the premise of Gods Law on this issue. This is the
absolute standard and must not be tampered with.
There are no longer any limits to human behaviour thanks to our super
liberal constitution. Morality is no longer a thing to be considered.
The new morality in SA calls for individuals to satisfy their appetites
at every and any level with no regard to consequences this can only end
in devastation and destruction.
