Condolences to the Mbeki Family - ACDP

Louis Green Deputy President of the African Christian Democratic Party
today expressed his sincere condolences to President Thabo Mbeki and
family on the passing of his father Govan Mbeki. Mr Green said, "We are
all saddened by the announcement of the passing of such an important
figure in the history of our liberation struggle and he will be sorely
missed. We as the ACDP pray God's blessing and peace upon the Mbeki
family at this sad time."

Mr Green said that the life of Govan Mbeki was to be celebrated as one
that displayed great selflessness, integrity and absolute commitment to
the plight of the millions of oppressed South Africans during the
Apartheid regime. "The late Mr Mbeki's life was a long and full one and
one through which we as South Africans can learn much from."
